Classroom Management

Educators realize that we are losing precious instruction time to pesky low-level discipline challenges. We all must realize that academics and discipline go hand in hand. An educator can be the best content instructor on campus but without the ability to control the classroom, the best lessons will remain undelivered. Click on the link below for more information.

Classroom Management Program

STEAM

These high energy, engaging workshops are customized to your teacher’s needs in the areas of science, technology, engineering, arts and math instruction. Some of the topics covered include questioning, student centered learning, assessment, integration, lesson planning, unit planning and classroom layout. The duration and frequency of the workshops depend on the needs of your school. These workshops are appropriate for K-12 staff, both new and experienced teachers since the content and design are specific to your community.

Inquiry Instruction

Shifting from teacher directed to student centered instruction is the focus of these workshops. Helping teachers understand how to create units of study that are based on student interest and instructional needs is done through modeling the process with teachers. These workshops are based on the interests of the teachers in order to model the inquiry process. The duration and frequency of the workshops depend on the needs of your school. These workshops are appropriate for K-12 staff, both new and experienced teachers since the content and design are specific to your community.

Literacy

Reading, writing, speaking, listening and viewing are the content areas that you can choose to focus on with a literacy workshop. Based on the needs of your staff, we’ll co-create an agenda that will help them get to a place where they feel competent and confident as literacy instructors. The duration and frequency of the workshops depend on the needs of your school. These workshops are appropriate for K-12 staff, both new and experienced teachers since the content and design are specific to your community.

Developmentally Appropriate Instruction

Early childhood education is a tricky business in the age of high stakes testing. I work with staff members to help them design developmentally appropriate, child centered learning environments and experiences. The duration and frequency of the workshops depend on the needs of your school. These workshops are appropriate for K-12 staff, both new and experienced teachers since the content and design are specific to your community.

Assessment

Why should teachers move from paper and pencil assessments to other forms of assessment when students are given standardized tests? These workshops help teachers understand the different sources of information that can be gathered from various forms of assessment to help inform their teaching. The duration and frequency of the workshops depend on the needs of your school. These workshops are appropriate for K-12 staff, both new and experienced teachers since the content and design are specific to your community.

Family Workshops

Parents and grandparents are busy people and want to know how to best support their children at home. I will work with you to design learning experiences to help them better understand what is happening at school and what they can do at home to foster healthy development. The content of family workshops I’ve done include literacy, homework help, math, asking good questions, executive function, inquiry instruction, assessment, school planning…I will work with you to develop events and workshops that will engage your families.
